GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
These Old Testament grace-filled saints were not to be
matched against Jesus Christ who was on all counts
untainted with any moral defilements (2 Corinthians 5:21;
1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5). Also, in the pattern of Christ we
are all called to live the same life of grace, to keep ourselves
unspotted by the world, love not the world, and to remain
pure in readiness for Christ’s return (James 1:27; 1 John
2:15-17; 3:1-3).
4. Grace empowers us to live soberly.
Ours is an age of compromise, perversion, rebellion and
ungodliness. But grace separates us from the world to live
soberly, self-controlled, righteous or upright and godly
lifestyle IN THIS PRESENT AGE. Hence we need to
constantly heed the warning of Philippians 2:14-16.
“Do all things without complaining and
disputing, that you may become blameless and
harmless, children of God without fault in the
midst of a crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the world,
holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice
in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or
labored in vain.”
5. Grace causes noticeable changes outwardly.
By whatever yardstick you measure it, when you deploy the
unique virtues of grace, its effects become progressively
