The Dangers of Grace

district, a place you go if you want to be serious with God,
but a place you dare not tread if you want to continue in
compromise. This Apostolic community wielded so much
power, the presence of God was strong in their midst. The
supernatural was commonplace in their midst. This should
serve as food for thought to today’s church.

Today’s church seems to carry with her so much excess
baggage. We have so much compromise amongst us. The
fear of God seems to be a strange thing in our midst. We
seem to be having so much fun in our meetings and
services, but deep-seated conviction of divine purpose and
demand is lacking. We have the capacity to do much more
and have more impact than the early Church, with the level
of civilization, technological advancement and awareness.
The increase in knowledge should set us up for greater
exploits. But alas! With the awesome grace of God that we
have received, we yet have so much dangerous and toxic
practices coexisting with this grace in our lives. An
aberration!

Today, church people tell lies without remorse. The people
do not just fall into sin, many live and find comfort in sin.
Fraudsters, rapists, and all manner of habitual sinners
consistently attend our church services; they unashamedly
feel comfortable, have no conviction, return regularly to
our meetings and feel no need for a change of ways. It is
alarming and appalling!
