GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
There is urgent need to check the things we stand for as
Christians. As things are, we are distracted by the amount
of money available to the church. We are focused on
building projects, getting more members into our
churches without necessarily checking on the spiritual
content and Christian discipleship of the numbers of
people we are attracting.
Leaders Must Lead Aright: The issue of sin amongst the
saints becomes complicated and amplified when there is a
form of endorsement from the leadership, either by
doctrine/teaching or by the lifestyle of the leaders. Sin
cannot be fully dealt with in the church if the leadership
that should set the standards teach sin-indulging doctrines
and live carnally, giving wrong example to the flock. So
much is expected of Christian leadership. As James 3:1
(NLT) declares,
“Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you
should become teachers in the church, for we who
teach will be judged more strictly.”
Jesus addressed the matter of leadership responsibility in
another way in Luke 12:47-48.
“And that servant who knew his master’s will,
and did not prepare himself or do according to his
will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he
who did not know, yet committed things
deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For
