wanted...Then those men, when they had seen the
sign that Jesus did, said, “This is truly the Prophet
who is to come into the world.” Therefore when
Jesus perceived that they were about to come and
take Him by force to make Him king, He departed
again to the mountain by Himself alone”
(John 6:11, 14-15).
4. Perpetually seek where God dwells. Hebrews 11:9-
10, 16 recalls the faith of the patriarchs of Israel.
“And even when he reached the land God promised
him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a
foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and
Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham
was confidently looking forward to a city with
eternal foundations, a city designed and built by
God. But they were looking for a better place, a
heavenly homeland. That is why God is not
ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared
a city for them” (NLT).
Abraham sought God before he had things. Yet, having
achieved material wealth, he still sought after God. He had
lands, children, fame, might, wealth, health, but he
continued to seek the One who can hold all those things
together. This is a challenge to Christians in every nation.
We need to consistently carry the mentality of influencing
things here on earth for eternity while we make sure we are
