women who assembled at the door of the tabernacle
of meeting. So he said to them, “Why do you do
such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from
all the people. No, my sons! For it is not a good
report that I h e a r. Yo u m a k e t h e L O R D ‘ s p e
o p l e transgress. If one man sins against another,
God will judge him. But if a man sins against the
LORD, who will intercede for him?”
Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their
father, because the LORD desired to kill them.”
These are bad examples of service in the things of God.
They brought despise to the things of God and divine
service.
There are good examples of people who served the LORD
with right hearts and thereby secured for themselves divine
recognition for uncommon grace. Here are some:
1. Elisha
Elisha had a background in business. He was a successful
farmer. However, God had other plans for his life. Without
his knowledge or any consultation, God spoke to the
national prophet of his day, Elijah, about a succession plan.
“So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in
the strength of that food forty days and forty nights
as far as Horeb, the mountain of God. And there
he went into a cave, and spent the night in that
