Diploma in

               Welding Engineering

Across several industries, many companies are compelled to
adopt cost-effective strategies for maintaining their assets. These
include in-house repair, fabrication, installation or maintenance
of components, piping systems and metal structures. This
               requires the employment of Welders/Fabricators.

The Diploma in Welding Engineering programme provides a
comprehensive theoretical and practical overview of the most
commonly used welding processes including Oxy-fuel Welding
(OFW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc
Welding (GTAW), and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
Students are also exposed to the science which is fundamental to
understanding welding processes. In addition, students are
taught welding health and safety, blueprint reading, materials
layout, component fabrication, and the welding of various metals.

At the end of the programme, students may benefit from a six-
               week period of industrial attachment.
Graduates of this programme may seek employment as
entry-level Welders/Fabricators in industries such as
Manufacturing and Processing, Power Generation and
               Distribution and Structural Fabrication.

The courses covered in this programme are:
