“Its not easy to make the right gift.”
It is not usual to give a gift to a tree. The idea crosses many boundaries.
It questions the identity of the person and that of the tree. It questions
the idea of being in relation with a tree. What kind of relation can I have
with a tree, a plant? This was difficult and delicate territory.
Despite the difficulties posed by the proposal, this ‘zone of possibility’
opened up a deeply emotional and cognitive dimension. A climate of
complexity and curiosity was created, not only to see the gifts made by
others , but also seeing something new about the tree.
