                LET EDUCATION BE ENHANCED!

I feel greatly delighted to witness the making of another
YEAR BOOK! I seize this opportunity to rejoice with all
the pupils and students of Blooms Academy; I also
rejoice with the students of Blooms College for their
maiden edition of the YEAR BOOK.

Year Book means a lot to School Heads and College
Principals. It is a time to reflect that another year had
gone and a new year is about to start. Great School
Heads go into self auditing, personal and general
appraisal. It is very easy to measure growth; it helps in
terms of how many pupils passed the Examination.
         H o w e v e r, i t i s c u m b e r s o m e t o m e a s u r e
development—how many lives have I impacted on? What
changes have I brought to the less privileged children?
How often do I make the children smile? Do the children
go home happy and fulfilled, or they have lost interest in
schooling? These questions are more important than Mr. John B. Ogungbenro
         passing examinations. Principal

The child that cannot spell his/her name was able to go half way-this sounds ridiculous as an
achievement, but it is a monumental growth in education. It is the beginning of a great future- it
ushers in joy, assurance and more importantly, builds self-esteem, which is critical to
personality development. How do you measure this? How do you quantify them? How will people
appreciate you that you have not only made a child grow in knowledge, but also in logic?

Making a child responsible in an ever changing world of ours is like making an elephant pass
through the eye of a needle! The society is corrupt, the media is not helping, parents are ever
busy and more importantly, not always around {we have more of absentee parents than we can
ever imagine!} The house helps are not helping and the value system we commonly inherited is
collapsing: on our heads! Children are left brutally battered emotionally, yet we clamour for
education as a recipe to a world that is caving in. It takes an audacious school and highly
determined parents to instill value system in the children and build their future not in terms of
figures but in terms of self discovery, creativity and responsibility!

To become responsible means you are a committed member of the society, you seek its growth,
its prosperity, its total well being and every good thing that can happen to the immediate
society/environment. You give your all, and you are willing to defend your community- it starts
from the home as a culture through the parents, it grows and the school helps to reinforce and
         nurture the culture.

The world we live in today differs from what we have ever known. To be a success story and to
live victoriously in this present world as a child, you must be focused, be hard working and be
responsible. There are several challenges facing the world today; it ranges from natural
disasters, to war, diseases, banditry, poverty, climate change, sustainable living, migration,
financial insecurity and myriads of others. Man is desperately looking for solutions to tackle
these challenges, but, as efforts are made to get one solved, others spring up.
