– Product thought leadership. This type is the workhorse and provides the
how-tos, processes and blueprints.
In truth, all three aspects are encompassed in our chosen definition, but we need to
add that for it all to come together, you need authenticity (Miller 2015). Your
audience will quickly realise whether you are faking or rehashing it.
The road to becoming a thought leader is not paved with gold and is not an overnight
journey. Sure, if you have developed some of the aspects, it will make the entry point
easier, but do not underestimate what it takes to be a thought leader. Mostly, though
leadership is the sweet spot where your knowledge, commitment and expertise
intersect as depicted in Denise Brosseau’s diagram (Brosseau 2019):
