established in June 1948 and after the War became a reserve unit. The pin's manufacture suggests it dates from shortly after the War, probably the early
1950's. Bent at top right.

"Unit 424"; partially disbanded in 1974, formally disbanded in 1979 and then reconstituted in 1981.

Tunic pin for the IDF "Jerusalem Brigade", circa. 1960's-70's; size: 1.55 x 2.4cm; weight: 2.05g; not maker-marked. The Brigade was formed in October
1948 to serve in the Jerusalem area but saw much of its first combat action in the 1967 Six Day War; presently a reserve unit.
