The Orange Tree
Among the alleys of the city is [situated] an orange tree; a tree floating in the air. How can
a tree grow in the air? Only thanks to Ran Morin, an Israeli artist. Ran invested several
years in Botany studies in order to understand how to insert a big tree into a small
flowerpot. To him, these trees symbolize growth out of instability – like [the] life in the
city, and particularly like [the] life in Israel. Ran has statues like these also in Eilat, in
London, on mount Scopus and in Ramat Rachel. By the way, this tree produces [brings
out] fruit, just like in the old orchards of Yaffo, whose oranges became the international
brand Jaffa. Israel is on the map!
