“I usually try to put some motivational messages or themes in my music.”

MW: Is the ‘PEOPLE DI POWA’ EP completed yet? Do you have a
                             release date planned?

FV: The EP is finished with a pencilled release date for Aug/Sep. I'll be
releasing 1 or 2 of the tracks plus music videos before the main date.

MW: From what I understand, early on, you focused more on
negative things in your rapping. What prompted you to steer away
                             from that?

FV: I was just reflecting what was going on around me at the time. I was
trying to find my feet and make sense of my experiences. My main
influence at the time was gangster rap music. I try to focus on the positive,
just to put that energy out there. I have two kids now and I want them to
feel positive and empowered if they listen to my music. I want them to
know that they can achieve anything.
Despite the negativity we see around us, online, etc., there's still lots of
positives which we just need to take a step back and acknowledge. Just
                             give thanks.

MW: Has your past as a social worker influenced your song writing,
and if so, in what way?

FV: I was working with people who were sometimes massively affected
by social and interpersonal difficulties. The aim of the social work role was
to help improve the outcome in the lives of people. This role influenced
my song writing as I felt some responsibility to use my music platform to
promote similar values through my lyrics. I usually try to put some
motivational messages or themes in my music which sort of ties in with
                             my former social worker training.

MW: How has the pandemic affected you? Did you manage to carry
on working in the studio and did you write much during this time?

FV: It's been ups and downs, good days, and bad days. I imagine it's the
same for most people. On the bad days I try to zone out from it all by
listening to new music recommended by friends or binge on YouTube and
Netflix. Good days are usually studio days, writing and recording new
music. Its affected me socially and financially due to the lack of gigs.
Really missing the human interactions and connections. However, I've
used the time to finish up writing my new EP and managed to shoot some
                             really cool video ideas.
