LS: How did the formation of GGFO
come about? Please introduce our
readers to your group members
and share a bit about their
backgrounds.

GGFO (Jon): Luke and I met and
became friends about 9 years ago
when he was living around the
corner from me in Brooklyn with my
close friend and piano player. One
night, after not seeing each other
for months, we ran into each other
on the street in Manhattan and
decided to write a song together.
He sent me a track that night and I
was instantly inspired to write lyrics
and melody, "You're the One for
Me" and GGFO was born! I started
writing songs when I was about 9
years old and discovered my love
for performing in high school where
I was in musicals and formed a
band. After college where I
continued to perform, I moved to
NYC. Before GGFO started, I was
signed to an independent record
label as a solo artist where I
recorded two albums and began
touring both in the US and
internationally. Luke started playing
piano at age 6, drums at age 10,
and was playing in bands and
experimenting with computer music
in high school. Whereas I never had
any formal music education, Luke
studied drum set at University of
Miami where he continued on to
get a Masters in jazz composition. It
was at UM where he met Danny
and Carey, the drummer and guitar
player in our live band. Before
GGFO, Luke was touring in various
different bands, creating music for
commercials and producing and
mixing for other artists.
