Boys & Girls High School ECHS students are recruited and Year Opened: 2011
selected in 9th grade by administrators, guidance counselors and
teachers who are all part of our program. Applicants are 2014-15 Enrollment: 93
considered based on their academic performance as well as
their personal strengths, motivation, and potential as evidenced Male/Female Ratio: 52:41
in essays, recommendations, and out-of-class involvements.
Enrollment by Race/Ethnicity:
Students begin the program by attending weekday and Saturday African American – 93.6%
Academy tutoring sessions throughout the school year. Their Hispanic – 2.2%
first college-level course experience on the Brooklyn campus Asian/Pacific Islander – 1%
comes following their 9th grade year. Throughout the school Multiracial – 2.2%
year parents are engaged in student development through White – 1%

During 9th and 10th Grade years students gain their first
exposure/experiences on college campuses through Projected Number of College
participation in College Tours and Programs. In their 11th grade Credits Earned by Grade Level:
year; 11th graders take two college courses per semester at the 9th grade – 1
college. Students are also beginning the process of narrowing 10th grade – 0
their career and academic interests, with the support of the 11th grade – 12
Program Director, Counselors, and college mentors. In 12th 12th grade – 18
grade, students take between 2-3 college courses per semester,
in addition to any College in the High School classes. Our first Graduating Class will
matriculate in June 2015.
The ECHS partnership Program is focused on promoting the
