MARTHA STOG
100 YEARSOLD .

Well, Martha is shortly going to celebrate her 100th birthday! We don't think too many La Manga Club owners have reached this milestone. So first of all, from everyone at La Manga Club, happy birthday Martha!
Martha was born on the 13th July 1920 in Dortmund, Germany, and she has a brother who is 95. She qualified as a children's nurse, but in 1943 romance took over and she married the very handsome Wilhelm Stog.
Subsequently, they had three children, Arnulf born in 1944, Brita in 1945 and Jochen in 1947, who between them delivered seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Martha first came to La Manga Club in 1983/4, staying in the hotel and playing regular roundsof golf with her professional and some friends. "It was so lovely and very Spanish at that time," Martha said at the time. So much so that her husband Wilhelm fell in love with the resort after only two visits!
There was a sales office in the hotel. On impulse, Wilhelm bought a house at Los Molinos, which was the only area of green on the developer's plan. Understandably, Martha was not very happy to buy something she had not seen. So, Wilhelm and Martha arranged to visit the 'green spot'. However, when they got out of the car there wasnot much to see, so they just stood in the big hole which waswhere their beautiful new villa would eventually be built!
