flowers popping and springing up out of the ground. Oh boy, I

love when we have flowers right in front of our house.

Later on that evening I heard Duke bark, “Ruff! Ruff!!” I

went to the door and quickly rushed in the man as soon as I
recognized who it was. It was my Uncle. “Hi Uncle Henry!” I

said nearly waking up my father from his little snooze. “Hey

there Laura.” he said. “Oh hi Henry.” said my Ma. “What brings
you here this time of night?” asked my Pa rather confused.

Uncle Henry said “Well I thought I might come to tell you

somebody's found gold, Charles!!” This could be that special

opportunity! “Oh Caroline!” Said my Pa very excited like. My
Ma answered, “Now Charles we must not rush into to things.”

Then, Pa said, “Ok Laura you take Mary upstairs and please

               help her get ready.”

I never really knew exactly what my parents had said that
night, but I had something of an idea. For me it was like a big

puzzle and I was able to solve some of the puzzle, but not all.

After a good night’s rest I woke up and got ready for
chores. As I came down from the loft, my Pa who was already

up, said “Now I know you heard some things last night, but

before you ask anything, please do your chores first, and then
come here and we will tell you some things about last night.”

I honestly forgot all about that. But, now I couldn’t get it

out of my head, so I guess you could say I was a little frustrated

with him. However, I didn’t say anything, because I knew how
strict he could be if he had already told me something. So, I just

kinda walked out trying to keep my anger inside, and hide it

               from my Pa.
