2018 Turkey Day Classic Parade
What was the second thing you did on Thanksgiving Day after giving thanks
for your many blessings? Well, I can tell you what the Sorors of the Mont-
gomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Fundraising
Committee completed next on their list. Members of the committee, chap-
ter officers, the current Miss Crème de la Crème and Little Miss Crème de la
Crème, this year’s contestants and supporters gathered at 8:00 a.m. on a
cool Thursday morning in the parking lot of Crampton Bowl to participate in
the 95 Turkey Day Classic Parade hosted by Alabama State University.
th
Excitement was in the air as onlookers took their places along the parade
route. Dance teams performed as bands played and cheerleaders showed
their limitless enthusiasm and team spirit. Horses, motorcycles, floats, cars
and walkers took their positions in the precession. This was a joyous sight
to behold especially when the cars carrying Miss Crème de la Crème 2017-2019 Amyracle V. Coles
and Little Miss Crème de la Crème 2017-2019 Jayla A. Myles made their way down Dexter Avenue
towards hundreds of cheering spectators.
Committee members, officers and this year’s contestants adorned in red and white along with
beautiful smiles distributed candy to spectators as they walked the parade route. What a wonder-
ful way to begin a Thanksgiving Day by showing the city the best young ladies Montgomery has to
offer.
