           Message from President Brown

                          reetings Sorors,

As we enter the holiday season, I must pause and encourage you to do the
same, to reflect on the things that I am thankful for in my life. I acknowledge
my gratefulness on a regular basis, but I just must pause to give careful con-
sideration and reflection on the totality of my gratitude.

There is so much going on in the world and even closer to us than we can imagine. There is much Inside The
                                                                                                        Torch
pain, suffering, loneliness, heartache, hardships, health issues, disappointments, regrets and much
more that we cannot possibly understand it all. Most of us can truly say that we are “blessed and Chaplain’s Cor- 2-3

highly favored” even in the midst of it all. For this I am thankful. As I experience life, I have learned
there is a responsibility that comes along with the privilege of being blessed. Because I am blessed
to bless and to be a blessing to others….I am thankful. Founder’s Day 4

Sorors, the gifts, talents and resources that we have received through blessings are given to us to Spooktacular 5
share. We have certainly worked hard in our communities, as an organization, in the past few 6-9
weeks to ensure that we are sharing of ourselves and fulfilling the mission! Many thanks to the Rollin to Polls
Community Outreach committee for its continued efforts to bring smiles to the faces of little gob- Making Strides 9

Awareness and Involvement committee and the volunteers of Rollin to the Polls initiative for their Courtesies & 11

As we celebrate our successes, I encourage you to pause today to reflect and record your gratitude Events

-God’s grace and position in my life
-The unconditional love of my family and extended family Special points of

-The gift of laughter and happiness  Special Events
-The wisdom to bypass the unimportant acts (distractions) and do good anyway

This is just a small sampling that I will continue to build upon as I reflect. But it is so refreshing to
look back and be able to say, I AM THANKFUL AND BLESSED! I pray that each of you are able to do
       the same.

Continue to be a blessing to others and a wonderful holiday season!
