Message from President Brown
H
appy Sisterhood Month!
We have already started our celebration in grand style with our Annu-
al Prayer with a twist. Leadership teams from the Divine 9 were invit-
ed to attend and the Chaplains from each organizations were pro-
gram participants. The Southern Region’s Chaplain, Rev. Jaye L. Peabody-Smith, was the speaker of
the hour and she definitely stirred up the crowd to “unleash the warrior” within us! One im-
portant bit of advice Soror Peabody-Smith left us with is we all need a Sister Squad to help us along
the way. If the rest of the month is anything like the beginning of the month, we will be some spir- Inside The Torch

Please review the Membership Services calendar for activities for the month and participate in a
few of the planned activities. Check in on the members of your Sister Circle and plan an impromp-
tu meeting to connect. As we know, SISTERHOOD is the core of our identity. By definition, core is
the central most important part of something. Without a strong core (SISTERHOOD), we, as an Signature 3
organization and chapter, lose our identity. While we honor the sisterhood daily, the month of Programs
March is set aside to pay special attention to it. Sorors, let enjoy the month and each other as we Collegiate 4
keep the “joy in our sisterhood”! Connection

The Fundraising Committee is working hard planning the 2019 Crème de la Crème. We have seven
adorable contestants and they are excitedly anticipating the event. Sorors, we need full support of Courtesies & 11
the chapter to make this a special event for the young ladies and their families. We need to pack Birthdays
the house with an enthusiastic crowd to cheer them on as they compete for the titles of Little Miss
Crème de la Crème and Miss Crème de la Crème. We have included members of EMBODI to serve
as ushers for the event. The entertainers for the evening includes the Hutchinson Street Male Cho-
rus and the featured artist is Ms. Vanessa Bell Armstrong. As a reminder this event is the major
fundraiser to support our community programs and scholarships. The community is depending on Special points of interest:
