Collegiate Connection Month

The Membership Services Committee of the Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter celebrated Collegiate Con-
nection with members of the Omicron Mu Chapter (Auburn University at Montgomery) and Beta Eta Chapter
(Alabama State University). On February 9, Collegiate Sorors and the members of the Membership Services
Committee toured the Equal Justice Initiative Legacy Museum and the National Memorial for Peace and Jus-
tice. Sorors were amazed at the amount of information that was presented during this tour. Following the tour,
Sorors broke bread together and discussed the tour and other items.

On February 16 , members of Omicron Mu attended the Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter’s regular meet-
ing. During the meeting, each of the Collegiate Sorors were introduced. Following the meeting, the Collegiate
Sorors were able to interact with the Alumnae Sorors, and they were also presented with a token of apprecia-
tion for attending the meeting.

Members of Beta Eta participated in an ongoing community service project on February 21 , by assisting the
Community Outreach Committee as they packed backpacks for one local elementary school and one middle
school serving over forty students. These backpacks contained a variety of food items that are distributed on a
biweekly basis throughout the school term. Our Collegiate Sorors enjoyed their experiences and stated they
will return to continue to participate in activities with the Alumnae Chapter. “Strengthen in us old and young-
er as our ranks increase and grow – The Montgomery (AL) Alumnae Chapter is “Committed to Impactful Ser-
vice.”
