instructions as to how the Elections would be conducted. He explained parts of the Fit
and Proper Policy which related to members to be elected.

Br. Farouk Khan identified a list of persons who were prepared to accept nomination.
Five positions (3 Directors & 2 Substitutes) were to be filled. Those nominated were
introduced with relevant bio data being provided to the meeting by the person doing the
nomination.

Br. Farouk Khan then moved that nominations should cease. This was seconded by Br.
Salahudin Aziz Sr.

Br. Omar Gorib announced the results, thanked members for their co-operation and
handed over to the Chairman, Br. Manwar Ali.

The motion for the destruction of the ballots was moved by Br. Kemal Juman, seconded
by Br. Saied Hosein and approved by all.

General Business

Br. Aman Hosein announced the upcoming dinner on the 23rd May, 2015 and encouraged
members to attend. He also announced that Takaaful was proposing a Family Day on the
1st August, 2015. Br. Azim Ali encouraged members to get tickets early for the upcoming
dinner which includes sales, auctions and door prizes.

Br. Azim Ali advised that Br. Musa Mohammed was not well and could not attend the
meeting. Br. Manwar Ali also stated that Br. Sheriff Faizool was not present.

Br. Farouk Khan announced the Takaaful House Building initiative for low income
persons and encouraged members to come out and assist.

Br. Salahudin Aziz Jr. asked if members who are not on the BOM can join committees.
Br. Manwar appealed to members to submit names and contacts to join committees as
these are open to all members.

Br. Abdullah Pollard requested that Whatsapp software be used to educate the
membership about new legislation affecting Takaaful.
