MINUTES OF THE 17TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Date: Sunday April 26th 2015
Venue: Bureau of Standards Auditorium, Macoya Industrial Estate, Tunapuna.

Opening

The Meeting started at 9:00 a.m. with more than 50 members registered. The Chairman
and President of Takaaful, Br. Manwar Ali called the meeting to order.

The Chairman then made his opening remarks, welcomed all in attendance and proceeded
to highlight Takaaful’s important and continued role in the Friendly Societies of Trinidad
and Tobago.

Minutes of the 16th. AGM

The Minutes of the last AGM were read by the Assistant Secretary, Br. Ameer Ali.

Corrections to the Minutes:

a) Sr. Camilla Mohammed suggested that on pg. 8 in the correction to the Minutes
that ‘six position’s’ be changed to ‘six positions’. She added that on pg. 13 the
sentence should read ‘Imtiaz B. Ali responded that this is already being done.’

b) Br. Feroze Mohammed suggested that on Pg 12, ‘1 years’ should be changed to ‘1
year’.

The Minutes were confirmed by Br. Azim Ali and seconded by Br. Hashim Mohammed.

Br. Manwar Ali asked that the discussion of the Minutes be held back until after the
presentation of the BOM Report. This was due to the fact that topics of discussion in the
Minutes are usually addressed in the BOM Report.

BOM Report

The BOM Report for 2014 was read by the Secretary, Br. Zafir Ali.

Br. Zafir Ali pointed out that the figures on pg. 19 needed to be corrected. Doubtful
Investment provision allocation was corrected from $150,000 to $267,395 the General
Fund Deficit surplus was corrected from $239,092 to $70,547 and the total deficit was
corrected from $46,070 to $189,334. Br. Zafir Ali requested that the changes be accepted,
which were then adopted by Br. Azim Ali and seconded by Sr. Yvonne Teelucksingh.

Br. Saied Hosein suggested that on pg. 19 the word ‘great’ be changed to ‘significant’.
