Elizabeth Yang is a multiple award-winning attorney, who has practiced law for over a decade, spe-
cializing in intellectual property, business law, and family law. She is the owner and founder of the Law
& Mediation Offices of Elizabeth Yang, which has locations in Los Angeles, Irvine, Monterey Park and
Taipei.
At the age of 19 and in two and a half years, Ms. Yang earned bachelor’s degrees in Electrical En-
gineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley. She went to work for the
Raytheon Company as an electrical engineer, designing radar systems for the B2 Bomber. She also worked
for the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab as a member of the Mars Exploration Rover main control unit team.
Drawn to the legal profession, Ms. Yang received Juris Doctorate
and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of
La Verne. She was admitted to the United States Patent & Trademark
Office in 2007 and, in 2015, earned her Mediation Certification from
the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
She was named among the “Top 100 Civil Lawyers” and “Top 40
Lawyers Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers Association. She
was recognized a “rising star” by the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers
ranking her in the top 2.5 percent among California lawyers for 2017-
2019. Se also received the Lawyer of
Distinction award, recognizing her as among the top 10 percent of lawyers
in the United States.
In 2017, Ms. Yang embarked on a new challenge alongside Jack
Canfield, author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books. The
collaboration became a best-selling novel, The Big Secret, within the first
week. In 2018, Elizabeth published her second book, Stress-Free Di-
vorce, to assist parties going through this very difficult time of their lives.
She is the national president of the National Association of Asian
American Professionals (NAAAP), vice president of Southern California
Chinese Lawyers Association, and vice president of the National Asso-
ciation of Divorce Professionals. She sits on the Monterey Park Design
Review Board, and the boards of the Asian Youth Center, Asian Busi-
ness Association, Monterey Park Design Review
Board, Cal State Fullerton Center of Leadership,
and Mount San Antonio College Foundation.
Awards include the 2019 Excellence in Ex-
ecutive Leadership Innovation Award from Cal
State Fullerton; Asian Pacific American Dis-
pute Resolution Center Community Leadership
Award, Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce
Hero Award, Outstanding Women of City Club
Award, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Asso-
ciation Outstanding Youth Award, 10th Council
District Women’s Steering Committee honoree,
and NAAPA 2016 Leader of the Year Award.
