formation of the faithful. Besides the Chris-
tian formation of children, the Armenian
Church is deeply concerned about the edu-
cation of all the people in the community. To
respond to this concern, it organizes, par-
ticularly on the parish level, Bible studies,
lecture series, seminars, and panel discus-
sions on religious, socio-ethical themes, and
matters related to family and education.
Indeed, Christian education is at the
heart of the Church's teaching and preach-
ing ministry. In radically changing societies
and in the face of the alarming growth of
secularism, imbuing the faithful with Gospel
values is of crucial urgency for the Ar-
menian Church. Therefore, the reorganiza-
tion and renewal of Christian education in
all its aspects is an urgent priority. Such a
major undertaking involves a number of
steps: creating a new educational policy that
is in tune with new realities and specific
contexts, revising the existing curricula by
establishing a coherent integration of Ar-
menian curricula with the state-approved
curricula, reassessing current teaching meth-
ods and approaches by giving due attention
to the use of modern technology, and, above
all, preparing educators who are equipped, in
addition to knowledge and experience, with
a solid commitment to Christian faith and a
firm dedication to Christian education.
