Clare Camogie Secretary’s Report 2020
December 2019
The Clare Camogie AGM for 2019 was held in the Woodstock Hotel on December 2nd. Joe O’Donnell was re-
elected as Chairperson, while the positions of Vice Chair, Secretary, and Munster Delegate were held open
until the January meeting.
Some new bye-laws were proposed regarding:
1) the collection of an annual levy to help fund the maintenance and development of FMP, collection to
happen after the registration deadline;
2) requests for individual re-grading to be submitted by a date set by the fixture’s secretary;
3) all clubs nominating a person to be available to sit on the THDC committee if needed;
4) the rescinding of bye-law 16.
All were accepted. Bye law 3 didn’t pass at Ard Chomhairle
The club volunteer award was presented to Catriona McMahon, Newmarket on Fergus and the life time
achievement award went to Seamus Hayes at the inaugural Clare Camogie volunteers Christmas dinner at the
Woodstock Hotel.
The Burren Camogie club was disbanded after many years of struggle to keep it going by some very capable
and enthusiastic volunteers.
January 2020
At the reconvened AGM on January 6th, held in FMP clubhouse, Eleanor Skelly (Scariff-Ogonnelloe) was
elected Vice Chair, Anne McNamara (Sixmilebridge) was elected as Munster Delegate and Ann Sanz (Banner)
was elected as Ass. Secretary.
A new committee, the Camogie Branding Committee, was set up with representatives from all the County
Teams.
The terms of reference for the gradings and fixtures committees were proposed and accepted with a view
towards preparing for the coming playing year. A proposal to change the competition structure whereby the
U16 championship would be moved to the Spring, the U15 and U18 championships moved to the Autumn and
the U21 championship moved to the Summer was rejected.
The Munster Convention was held in Limerick on January 19th.

Scariff-Ogonnelloe played Slaughtneil in the Club All-Ireland semi final on January 26 , losing out by a single
goal.
The U14 development squad has been running for a number of weeks already.
An administration workshop for new members of executive committees was held in FMP on January 27th.
February 2020
Fixtures ratification meeting was held on February 17th.
The Feakle and Killanena camogie clubs disbanded and are now officially merged as one club.
On February 2nd, the Clare Minors won the Munster Minor (Blitz) championship in Mallow.
In the Littlewoods Senior National League, Clare had wins against Offaly (2 Feb) and Kilkenny (23 Feb).
A Club Officers training workshop in conjunction with the GAA was held in Ennis on February 13th.
A foundation level coaching course was held on February 1st, and a refresher course for referees was held on
the 26th.
The U16 A and B teams played Waterford and Tipperary, respectively.
