3. Number Chart

Unit Overview

In this unit, students will look at number charts, which will allow them to have
a clear visual of patterns and rules in the columns and rows. In a number
chart, the numbers increase by 1 at each space to the right and increase by
10 at each space going down. The number charts can be used to skip count
and to practice the order of numbers by filling in missing numbers. The study
of number charts and finding patterns is important as students will continue to
use number charts in elementary school where they will find patterns in
problems involving sums, differences, and multiplications.
