number by a 2-digit number and a 3-digit
number by a 2-digit number when there is no
remainder.
Example: 42 14
Place the first digit.
Decide where to place the first digit in the
quotient.
42 12 so there are enough ones. So,
place the first digit in the ones place.
Divide the ones.
Multiply. 3 14 42
Subtract. 42 42 0
Check the answer.
3 14 42, it checks.

division problems.

Problem:
A teacher is trying to hand out 96 notebooks evenly to 16 students. How many notebooks will each student
get? Write the solution and answer.
Answer:
