2. Double Patterns
Unit Overview
There are more instances where patterns in daily life have many characteristics
simultaneously than having just one characteristic. Patterns can be interpreted
in different ways depending on the characteristics that are recognized. Among
various characteristics, a pattern with two characteristics that change in a
complex sequence is called a double pattern. In this unit, students will be able
to deeply understand patterns through the discovering rules in double patterns
and developing their ability to predict the next situation. It is not easy for
students to distinguish double patterns. Therefore, allow the students enough
time to devote their attention to one characteristic through various problems.
