The Tapply-Thompson Community Center recently received a $10,000 grant from the Greater Lakes Region Char- itable Fund for Children to be used for their Operation Warm & Every Child is Ours (ECIO) program. ECIO provides food for students who may not have enough to eat over the week- end by providing food bags of ten items each. The grant also provides funds for Operation Warm. Operation Warm dis- tributes winter jackets, snow pants, & boots to youth in the Newfound School District who need them. The grant will fur- ther TTCC’s mission, which is to “Build a stronger community through enriching activities, recreation, and family support, where people of all ages are engaged, encouraged, and nur- tured.”
Executive Director of TTCC, Leslie Dion was very excited to learn about the award and is so grateful for the sup- port.
“The Greater Lakes Region Charitable Fund for Children has provided funding for the TTCC since 2013 and has helped us to provide scholar- ships, food and clothing for our area youth. We are so very grateful for their support and thankful for the many volun- teers that make these funds pos- sible!” said Dion.
The Tapply-Thompson Community Center serves the communities of the Newfound Region with youth and adult programs, special events, and more. To learn more about the TTCC programs, visit our web- site at www.ttccrec.org or give us a call at 603-744-2713.
About the Greater Lakes Region Charitable Fund for Children: Numerous fundrais- ing events in the Lakes Region throughout the year support the Greater Lakes Region Char- itable Fund for Children, in- cluding our four-day signature Children’s Auction event every December. In the past four decades, we have distributed
more than $8.6 million to over 80 nonprofits that serve low-in- come families and children in the Lakes Region, all through volunteer efforts, community donations, and corporate spon- sorship. The Children’s Auction falls under the umbrella of the Greater Lakes Region Charita-
ble Fund for Children, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that helps local community organi- zations that serve children and families in need. For more infor- mation about the Auction, the nonprofits it supports, and how you can help, visit Children- sAuction.org.
