The highly skilled American and Coalition aircraft pilots left their mark as though it were the
almighty hand of a righteous God wading through the enemy with a terrible swift sword.
Making our way to Kuwait Int’l Airport revealed excruciating evidence of a defeated Iraqi
Army.
As Delta was celebrating each and every turn of the wheels of the
LAV procession down the streets of Kuwait, 100,000 fleeing Iraqi troops were
meeting their doom on the long road to Basra – later this road would be
dubbed the road of death. At this moment air assets of the United States and
Coalition Forces, not to mention US Army ground troops were making Iraq
pay the ultimate price. Vehicles of the Iraqi military, not to mention stolen
civilian cars full of robbed loot from Kuwait, were smashed and destroyed
and the troops were meeting the same fate. Later eyewitnesses to the
carnage revealed to the world with photos and comments of just exactly
how truly devastating this final lesson was for the Iraqi Army. Later, as
history would play out, it took another military action to topple Saddam and
his two sons’ brutal tyranny against his people, his Nation, and the World.

An hour and a half of rolling in the Delta line, we reached the Kuwait
International Airport. Marines of the First Marine Division were making their
