One of the Sgts of Delta came over and said, “You Marines get back to your
vehicles. 1Sgt Villa wants everybody back in the general area. No more
exploring around, so let’s go.

“Aye-aye Sgt” was the reply. We made our way back to the rest of
Delta Company.
100 hours had taken its toll. The sleep deprivation, the lack of
drinking water and minimal food intake were catching up to us all. I
personally wanted to rest, and nightfall was coming on. I made a nice bed for
myself in the back of the Log, yet before I climbed in to rest, I did what Capt
Pollard suggested, I prayed. I gave thanks for deliverance and prayed for the
11 Marines that fell at OP4, and for their families.
