GENERAL MYATT GIVES MISSION BRIEFING

Listening to General Myatt was a revelation. It felt as though the torch had been passed into
the annals of history. The gathering of so many victorious US Marines was a feeling like none
other in the world. Victory was at hand…the good General just said it for all ears to hear. The
war was over.

Sgt Eiden of 1st Platoon was tasked with sounding reveille. He had an
e-tool in his hand and was banging on vehicles and shouting, “Reveille.
Reveille. Reveille. Reveille Delta. Get up. Get up. Get up. Let’s go Delta. The
General will be coming and the CO is ready to move. We’re going back to
meet with Battalion before the General’s speech. Standby to move in 15
Mikes. Let’s go Marines. Spread the word. Reveille.”
Sgt Eiden banged on the LOG with his e-tool, it sort of startled me,
but I realized it was just Sgt Eiden sounding reveille. The good news for me
was that I had slept completely through the night. Now, excitement filled the
air, Marines started trying to brew up morning coffee and the Sgts pushed
them to move, and that was okay because Marines were ready and willing to
get going.
