GLOSSARY – BY CATEGORY




          Delta Company was commanded by Captain Roger “Rock” Pollard, as the
                 Commanding Officer (CO).
          Captain Pollard was assisted by 1st Lieutenant Scott Williams as the
                 Company Executive Officer (XO), who served as second-in-command.
          Delta Company consisted of two LAV Platoons and a Company Headquarters
                 Platoon.
          Headquarters Platoon was made up of the CO, XO, 1Sgt Alfonso Villa,
                 Company Gunnery Sgt Steven Dell, Recovery Variant SSgt Steven
                 Metcalf, and the Logistics Team.
          Delta Company was a Company of LAVs – Light Armored Vehicles – that
                 would be used for their strategic and tactical mobility. The LAV could
                 travel at 60+ MPH, had a 275hp turbocharged diesel engine, and was
                 fully amphibious.



          DUTY
          Gunner - normally a Corporal or a salty Lance Corporal is in control of the
                 main gun.
          Scout team - Marines that rode in the back-troop compartment.
          Skipper – a term used in the Marine Corps for the Captain or CO.
          The Actual – a term used in the Marine Corps for the Captain or CO.
          XO – Company Executive Officer. This 1stLt serves as second-in-command.



          MARINE CORPS GROUPS
          Battalion – In this case, we are talking about the Great Col Jeffrey A. Powers,
                 then Maj Jeffrey A. Powers, also known as the Original Wolfpack Six.
                 His radio call sign was Wolfpack.
          MCAGCC - Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center
          MCRD – Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA
          S-2 – The intelligence group of the Marines. They gather information, analyze
                 and exploit data gathered, coordinate with external agencies and can
                 gather further intelligence before information is transmitted for
                 action.
