We knew LtCol Laing was a fiery
speaker, but what happened this
night was perhaps the greatest all-
encompassing speech describing
the LAI/LAR Battalion of all times. A
tribute unlike any other on behalf
of the Gold Star Families present.
LtCol Laing left an unforgettable

Lieutenant Colonel Philip Laing served as the Commanding Officer for 3D LAR Battalion (Call
sign Wolfpack 6) from May 2015 to June 2017.

LtCol Laing was the guest speaker at the Wolfpack Reunion in June of 2019.
Col Jeffrey Powers knew that LtCol Laing would make a great impact on the
Marines, Sailors, Gold Stars and guests who would be present at the dinner.
