EQUIPMENT
6x6 Truck – M939 truck. 5-Ton 6x6 US Military heavy truck. Designed to
transport a 10,000-pound cargo load – both troops and equipment.
Amtracs – Abbreviation for Amphibious Tractor
AN/VVS-2 – Passive night sight used in the driver's hatch.
Humvee – Highly mobile, multipurpose, wheeled vehicle. A family of light, 4-
wheel drive, military trucks.
LAV-25 – Two different entities of Marines dwell on the LAV-25 - The crew
and the scouts. With a turret having a 25mm Bushmaster Cannon,
capable of 200 rounds/minute and a coax mounted 7.62mm machine
gun, capable of 1,000 rounds/minute. The vehicle commander
controls a pintle-mounted 7.62mm machine gun. The vehicle
provides a drives hatch, gunner and vehicle commanders hatch in
the turret, two troop hatches, as well as two large bay doors
allowing scout egress from the vehicle.
LAV-AT – The Antitank version – or TOW vehicle. This vehicle had a
turret/hammerhead that raised and lowered. Had two TOW missile
launchers and could carry 14 additional TOW rockets. It had to be in
a stopped position to acquire a target or fire.
LAV-C2 – Serves as a mobile command post and communications vehicle.
Without a turret or Bushmaster chain gun, there are extra raised
positions for radio operators. Equipped with a 7.62mm pintle mount.
LAV-L – The logistics vehicle. Designed with an empty passenger area to
