Strathfield South Public School Celebrates Cultural Diversity
On Wednesday the 14th of August 2019, the students, staff and community of Strathfield South Public School gathered to mark their first Cultural Diversity Festival. Over a year in the organising, this event celebrated the importance of multiculturalism both within the school and the wider community.
Strathfield South Public School is rich in linguistic and cultural diversity with students representing over 45 different language groups including Italian. The Cultural Diversity Festival was in honour of students and their families; to celebrate the multicultural community through literacy and numeracy learning activities, cultural presentations and performances.
A highlight of the Festival was a performance by the Sydney based theatre company, Fools in Progress. Students from Years 3 to 6 were introduced to
