Current Volkswagen ICE, HEV or PHEV products will MQB
need much of their space for technology.
The design and construction of an E-Car is much more
simpler than current ICE or BHEV products. E-Mobility
MEB
technology in general will need less and smaller parts and
the battery pack is stored below the passenger area.
A toolkit like the MEB has been specifically developed to make the manufacture of electric vehicles even more efficient – and therefore

less expensive – in the long term. It thereby allows Volkswagen to organize its production with a more systematic focus on e-mobility.
This will allow it to cater for the greatly increasing demand for electric vehicles. There are, however, many other factors which have an
impact on the future sales prices of electric vehicles, in particular the rapid progress being made in battery technology.
