Day 2: Saigon – Cu Chi – Tay Ninh (B)
Transfer Cu Chi to visit the tunnel site. Drive toward Cambodian
border to the vicinity once known as Parrot’s Beak and visit the
memorial site of the Central Office of South Vietnam (COSVN).
Visit the Black Virgin Mountain. Overnight in Tay Ninh.
Day 3: Tay Ninh – Loc Ninh – Dong Xoai (B)
Visit Dau Tieng Base Camp (Camp Rainier), base of many
infantry and artillery battalions since 1966; the site of Katum
Airfield being the base for a number of infantry and airlift
combat units since 1967. Continue upstream of Saigon River
and visit the war memorial site in Loc Ninh. Overnight in
Phuoc Long.
Day 4: Phuoc Long – Buon Ma Thuot (B)
Follow Route 14 north bound toward Buon Ma Thuot. En route
make some visits at old firebase sites upon request which may
include Gia Nghia Airfield or Firebase Atkinson near Dong Xoai.
Overnight in Buon Ma Thuot.
Day 5: Buon Ma Thuot – Kontum (B)
In Buon Ma Thuot visit the Minority Culture Museum with
colorful collections of artifacts from the indigenous tribes who

Pleiku. En route pass by the site of Dragon Mountain Base Camp

Bases Day 6: Kontum – Hoi An (B)
Leave Kontum and drive north through the Central Highlands’
landscape. En route stop at the memorial site of the fierce
Battle of Dak To, Phoenix Airfield and have the view of Charlie
Hill; the site of Ben Het Camp, Kham Duc Airfield. Visit one of
the ethnic villages along the route. Overnight in Hoi An.
16 days Day 7: Hoi An (B/D)
The old town in Hoi An is listed as a World Heritage Site by
UNESCO. Walking tour in the old town and visit most significant
landmarks including the Japanese Bridge, the Fujian Temple.
The afternoon is at leisure to relax or to explore the town further
at one’s own pace. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 8: Hoi An – Danang – Hue (B/D)
Visit the Marble Moutains in Danang and drive north toward

Visit the city’s significant landmarks including the Reunification unit landed in 1963. In Hue visit the city’s most significant tourist

Chinatown and Thien Hau Temple. During the day we also visit
the War Museum. Overnight in Saigon.
