   GivingPoint has shown immediate success after only a few months of its inception; it attracted more than 2,000 students and numerous nonprofits. This quick spike in demand of GivingPoint’s services and platform moved the team to immediately consider scaling the organization to grow nationally. In July 2009, GivingPoint became a public charity, nonprofit type 501(c)(3), and quickly raised over $200,000 from a diverse group of corporations, individuals, and foundations.
Thus far, thanks to volunteer and service-learning journeys of many young people, GivingPoint contributed more than $20,380,000 to the local community, logged in more than 880,000 volunteer hours, and grew its member base to around 14,000 students, nonprofits, and donors.
To date, GivingPoint is the only nonprofit to offer an online platform where students can create and personalize their unique civic resumes through an efficient online verification system and launch a social networking site that allows students to raise awareness, funds, and volunteers for causes they care
