Student Supports
Transfer Programme
In order to help with the transition from Primary to Post-Primary, we have a number of initiatives in
place to help students settle into their new environment. All incoming First Year students benefit from
an induction programme that facilitates them becoming familiar with the school building, meeting their
new classmates, teachers, Class Tutor and Year Head.
All 1st Year students participate in a mentoring programme where they
are paired with a senior student who acts as their Big Brother/Sister.
Through a co-ordinated programme friendships are forged and it ensures
that all First Years always have someone to ask advice from.
Cat IV tests are administered prior to commencement of the new school
year and this information is invaluable in identifying and supporting
students with any additional needs.
Book Rental Scheme
Moving into Secondary school can be a very expensive time. The Junior Book Rental Scheme helps at
reducing these costs and is available to all students.
Food Provision
Canteen facilities are available on-site. Students can avail of a wide variety of hot food, provided at low
costs.
