Eruptions can influence bird migration, roosting, flying ability, and
feeding activity.
HEATWAVE AND ULTRAVIOLET RAYS also affect
plants, animals, and humans. Too much heatwave and ultraviolet rays can
cause stressed on plants. On the other hand, some plants grow taller but
weaker when less ultraviolet rays are received. Some plants grow shorter and
become stunted due to too much ultraviolet rays. With lesser ultraviolet
rays, plants don’t bear flowers and fruits. Enough ultra-violet rays allow
plants to produce flowers and fruits. But too much ultraviolet rays and
heatwave shorten the life span of plants, wither them or caused them to bear
smaller fruits than normal or no fruits at all. Too much ultraviolet light also
caused changes in the production of certain chemicals in plants leaves.
These chemicals can affect herbivorous insects’ life.
Heatwaves also caused stroke, illness, and death of both aquatic
and terrestrial animals. It also threatens human lives. It causes skin cancers
and strokes. Too much ultraviolet rays and heatwaves also cause a rise in
water temperature resulting in rapid algal bloom, red tide, fish kill, and
fish migration to cooler bodies of water.
LIGHTNING AND THUNDERS are other environmental conditions
that affect living things. Thunder causes trauma to dogs and small children.
While lightning kills a person or topple a tree when it strikes. Lightning can
also cause a forest fire. Forest fire damage plants and destroy the natural
habitat of wild animals. It also kills small animals and insects.
