As a writer and someone who has come from a talking profession, I
have come to understand the power of Words. They are the tools of
my trade.
Why are Words so powerful?
It is never simply the intellectual meaning, or the concept portrayed,
but the feeling and the emotion contained and carried within them.
Words carry the power, the energy and the influence of emotions.
A powerful and charismatic speaker can ignite an audience,
enflaming and awakening a passion that can fuel and incite action.
Actions of destruction… or actions of peace!
Words can hurt: “You’re stupid!” “You’re pathetic!” You’ll never
amount to anything!”
Or they can heal: “I’m so sorry… that will never happen again!”
Words can bring joy: “Wow, that is just amazing!” “I adore you…” “I
love you…”
And what of empty Words?
Empty Words are not empty of either power or emotion, as a
general rule, they are empty of action!
When we talk about empty words we are describing a situation
where actions are not congruent with what has been said.
