Page 89 - Be Your Most Brilliant Self!
P. 89
The scope of our human vision is limited, not only by the constraints
of our physical eyesight but also by the perceptions and viewpoints
that we hold in our minds eye. Make an agreement with yourself to
strive to always look beyond the obvious with a desire to understand
and to look more deeply. This is reflection.
Take some time each day to reflect.
True reflection asks us to free ourselves from any loaded
preconception or assumptions and to take time to really hear and
consider all aspects of an experience.
True reflection involves objectivity, a state of being where we
enhance our ability to be both present and yet an observer at the
same time, to feel deeply involved and yet un-involved in the same
moment, to care and yet simultaneously hold an objective
viewpoint.
When we occupy a space of reflection we sit in paradox because as a
space of learning and possibility it is by its very nature a place of
movement and potential growth, and yet it is also a place of
stillness, peacefulness and quiet.
Reflection is never a busy place.
Embracing true reflection is a one of the most valuable tools that we
have available to us. It enables us to notice. Whenever we notice
something we create a window of opportunity in which our
deepening awareness can inform our conscious thinking and direct
our actions.
