Ordering Discontinued Material
Purpose:
To take a proactive approach on orders received that request discontinued materials. Customer
Service must work together to update the order and communicate the information to the
customer.
Policy:
We will NOT build a shade with a new operating system in a discontinued material
We reserve the right to decline a new order in a discontinued material if our remaining stock
is best used for remakes & other warranty fulfillment
Direct Connect will accept orders in discontinued material but we do not guarantee stock for
such orders until production has reviewed the order
Process:
Discontinued material is indicated with a double pound sign (##) in ECC. In Direct Connect,
it will say (Discontinued) after the material name.
Order submitted via Phone, Email, or Fax:
Advise the dealer through the appropriate channel that this material is discontinued
and that you will contact production to see if we can build.
If the dealer would like to move forward:
1. Read the order back and/or send a confirmation
2. Place the order on CS hold
3. Email production to see if we have enough stock to build.
If stock is available, advise the dealer and remove the hold
If stock is unavailable, leave the order on hold and advise the dealer to re-select
material
Order submitted via Direct Connect:
If stock is available, and a new order is the appropriate use of that stock, the order will
move forward into production without Customer Support intervening.
If the order cannot be completed with the current material selection:
Production will advise (via team box email address) if we cannot build the order due
to discontinued material.
Team box administrator places order on CS hold and assigns CSR to reach out to
the dealer to advise we do not have stock to complete.
