            Recruitment

The most common problem with employee hiring is finding the right people.
Without a strong employee team, a business will struggle to keep going.

              Common ways of hiring:

                 • Asking family, friends, coworkers and colleagues to pass the word around
about job a opening. Current employees might know of other great people
out there who would be a great fit for the restaurant.

                 • Advertising on the restaurant window inviting walk-ins to suggest
                       themselves as possible candidates.

                 • Posting a job position in an online job marketplace.
                 • Using social media, such as Facebook.
                 • HR companies.

             Training

Training employees correctly is essential for any successful restaurant. Your staff
needs to be attentive to customers demands while appropriately displaying the
personality of the establishment. The restaurant business is challenged with the
trade-offs of quality and speed of service.

               Common types of training:

                  • Shadowing: involves trainees following a mentor while the mentor performs
his regular job duties or real-life scenarios.

                  • Instructing: trainees are given verbal or written directions for how to
accomplish a task, with no demonstration. Mainly for regulations and menu
                        learning.

                  • Supervised Performance: trainees receive hands-on experience by
performing work tasks while being actively supervised by a trainer.
