if we do, we never develop them to the fullest
potential.
Like losing my basketball skill, personal growth
takes patience, discipline, and persistence.
“What you don’t use, you lose.” We know this
intellectually. Like Zig Ziglar’s analogy of the
house, plane, and ship, we must always be in a
perpetual state of growth. If we have the
knowledge and the recipe for success, what do
you think are our greatest roadblocks? I believe
I have the answers. In fact, I get excited when I
think about the answers because they are so
simple. Even the latest neuroscience experts
have discovered these simple yet profound
roadblocks that keep most people living
mediocre lives. The simple truth that
neuroscience has proven is that our brains are
lazy.
I had the opportunity last year to go to the
Neuro-Leadership Summit in New York City.
Dr. David Rock is the founder of the Neuro-
Leadership Institute. There I was, Randy
Perdue, the hillbilly from West Virginia among
some of the greatest minds and corporate
executives in the world. I felt like a weenie in a
