RANDY PERDUE
Timebound. Give your goal a realistic deadline.
If you set a goal to weigh 150 pounds and you
currently weigh 200 pounds, getting it done in a
week is not realistic, is it? Perhaps liposuction
would do it, but that is probably not wise.
The things that we want can be large or small.
They can take a few hours to achieve or a
lifetime. The bigger the goal and the longer it
takes to achieve, the more order it introduces
into our lives. The most successful people on
the planet have a long-term perspective.
Order is heaven’s first law.
For us to achieve anything meaningful, we need
order and movement. One without the other
doesn’t really work, does it?
In James Allen’s great book, As a Man
Thinketh, there is a chapter about thought and
purpose. At the beginning of this chapter, he
reminds us, “Until thought is linked with
purpose, there is no intelligent
accomplishment.”
