Also, using the word "I" is crucial. It is the only
word in the dictionary specific to you. It makes
it personal. It's also important to give your goals
a completion date. By giving them a deadline,
you ignite the subconscious and activate the
new neuro networks.
Many experts in the field of psychology say that
it takes about twenty-one days to create a new
habit. It's different for everyone, but if you
commit to doing a new empowering discipline,
commit to it for thirty days. The experts also
say that you can't really break a bad habit unless
you replace it with a good one. The brain will
detect the void and try to replace the void with
something else or go back to the old habit (the
comfort zone). You are the one to control that.
In fact, the only things that we truly have any
control over are the thoughts we think on a
regular basis.
