P. 48
John 1:14; The Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we saw his glory a
glory like that of the first-born of the Father full of grace and truth.
As for GOD his Word is perfect. The Word of the LORD is time tested and true.
He relieves all who trust in him.
By the Word of the LORD were the heavens made and all the host of them by the
breath of his mouth. The waters of the sea he gathers together as in a heap of
water skins. He lays up the depths in storehouses. Let all the earth revere the
Lord. Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Quintessence of Moses
The Word of the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
Go to the Adversary and say to him let my people go that they may serve me. If
you refuse to let them go I will appoint a set time tomorrow and will smite your
cattle which are in the desert, the horses, the asses, the camels, the oxen, and
the sheep with a sever plague. The Lord will discriminate between his people and
the adversary. The next day all the cattle of the adversary died. The cattle of his
people not one died. The Adversary inquired concerning his cattle and his heart
was hardened and he did not let Gods people go.
The Word said to Moses takes two handfuls of the ashes from the kiln and
scatters it toward the heaven in the sight of the Adversary. The fine ashes will
scatter to the four corners of the land causing and epidemic of boils and sores
to break out upon men throughout all the land. Moses took ashes of the kiln
and stood before the Adversary. Moses tossed the ashes into the sky in the
sight of the Adversary as it was carried away by the wind it became blistering
boils and sores upon men throughout the land. The Word of the LORD
hardened the heart of the Adversary and he did not listen. The Word said to
Moses, go early in the morning and stand before the Adversary. Say to him thus
says the Lord God let my people go that they may serve me. This time I will
send my plague on your heart and on your servants and on your people that
you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.
He who believed the words which were spoken by Moses brought his servants in
from the fields to be protected. He who regarded not the Word of the LORD left
his servants out in the land. The Lord said to Moses lift up your hand toward
heaven that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt upon men and upon all the
grass in the fields throughout the land. Moses lifted up his hands toward heaven
and the Lord sent thunder and hail and lightning ran along on the ground. There
was hail and flaming fire mingled with the hail very grievous such as had never
been in all the land since it became a nation.
The hail, lightning and rain destroyed throughout all the land all that was in the
field both man and beast. The hail destroyed all the herbs of the field and broke
