P. 44
Pilot, Jesus is a Galilean
Then Pilate said to the high priests and the people, I cannot find any fault against
this man. They shouted and said he has stirred up our people, teaching
throughout Judea, and beginning from Galilee even to this place. When Pilate
heard the name Galilee, he asked if the man was a Galilean. When he knew
that he was under the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him to Herod, because he
was in Jerusalem at that time
Jesus from Galilee
Truly this man was the Son of God. There were also many women there, who
were looking from afar, those who had followed Jesus from Galilee, and who
used to minister to him. One of them was Mary of Magdala; the other was Mary
the mother of James and John.
When the centurion saw, what had happened, he praised God and said. Truly
this was a righteous man. The acquaintances of Jesus stood afar off, and the
women who had come with him from Galilee. They were watching these
issues.
This was a Friday and the Sabbath was approaching. The women who had
come with him from Galilee were near. They saw the tomb and how his body
was laid. They returned to Jerusalem and prepared spices and perfumes. On the
Sabbath they rested, as it is commanded.
Peter Speaks to the Apostles
They were amazed and bowed their faces to the ground; Peter said to them,
why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, he has risen;
remember what he spoke to you while he was in Galilee.
Marry Magdala go quickly and tell his followers that he has risen from the dead;
and behold, he will go before you to Galilee; there you will see him; lo, I have
told you.
Jesus showed himself again to his apostles by the Sea of Galilee; he
appeared in this way; they were all together, Simon Peter, Thomas who is called
the Twin, Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, the sons of Zebedee and two others of
the apostles. Peter said to them, I am going to catch fish. They said to him, we
also will come with you. They went out and climbed up into the boat; that night
they caught nothing. When morning came, Jesus was standing by the seaside;
the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
